pirating an app

first off, check how popular the app is. chances are, if its popular enough, you should be able to find torrents of it online
use your usual rutracker dot org, 1337x dot to, kickasstorrents dot cr, whatever you prefer, if you can only find unrelated queries try adding "apk", "android" or "mobile" to your search

if you can't find it on anywhere there, then welcome to the shady zone
look up " apk" on your preferred search engine. keep in mind more obscure search engines may get more shady results, so id recommend ddg for this, its given me okay results

if the autocomplete already has a search query for whatever youre looking for, then good job! there's pretty much guaranteed to be a download
start from the top and just go through the links, most of the time i wouldnt say to trust any sites at all cus they can drastically change after a DMCA or something similar to some super shady site thatll give you a virus

make sure it has the app version name and the download size, and make sure the download size aligns with the google play listing download size. if the site doesnt list a download size, most of the time itll give you some sort of virus
if theres an install/download count, chances are its a scam, especially if its a very rounded number

make sure that whatever youre downloading from doesnt download an app that promises to then download the app, while there are some usable pirate app stores they likely contain malicious code

its also most likely safe if theres a permission list for the apk file or if the download has an OBB aswell. however if you know the app doesnt have an OBB and they're advertising an OBB download, its a scam
after youve downloaded the actual app, check the app name and icon listed when you try to install it, theres a chance it has some sort of misalignment with the actual app metadata if its a fake app

another way to spot a fake site is if theres comments/reviews and you cant create a comment, it sounds dumb but its a real thing some sites do
never let the shadiness of sites throw you off. this is literally illegal, why would they not be shady

heres a list of sites you should or shouldnt trust:

  • apkhere.com: downloads its own app store apk, never used it, you shouldnt either
  • aptoide.???: downloads its own app store apk, used it but it just smells of spyware. dont know if theyre still around
  • apkmodo.net: veeery shady, but it works without any red flags

  • apkring.com: seems trustworthy, got bridge constructor portal from it well just a while ago
  • apkmody.io: seems trustworthy, however the downloads always failed for me, use at own risk
  • apkpure.com: trustworthy, but doesnt encourage piracy and usually only mirrors free apps (however, i wouldnt recommend using their store app)

patching out microtransactions, ads, all of the sort

look up an apk of the app just as listed above, except look for modded downloads. they mostly identify themselves with "MOD", however do keep in mind some contain cheats for games that completely remove the fun. be sure to check what the mod is advertising, and if its not listed, hurry out of there

if nothing is found, welcome to the shady zone2
i wouldnt recommend going down this route, but if youre desperate, go ahead

if you want to patch out the apk and not deal with cheating stuff in, get lucky patcher. its shady and i have absolutely no clue whether it has some spyware or whatever or not, it asks to manage your phone calls? but thats like, the most shady thing it does, and it works

theres quite a few downloads circulating around the internet since theres not really a central official download, but ive found luckypatchers.com/download to be quite safe
oh, and it works without root access. you just have to reinstall the app, so if youve made any progress thatll be removed

if you want to cheat in items, get game guardian. the official download and forums are at gameguardian.net/
it works kinda like cheat engine on windows, you find a value and then modify it. you need technical knowledge to do this though, and it doesnt work on all phones

ending notes

never download from an unencrypted site, never download from a plain html site, never download from a wordpress site (you can tell by the icon)
